Acts 9:15-16
But the Lord said unto him, “Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”

God chooses men for particular tasks and it is not according to works but according to His purpose and grace. Paul stands as an example of just how rich the mercy of the Lord is. He is also an example of what the grace of God can accomplish in a man. A persecutor of the church can be made to preach the unsearchable riches of Christ, have an abundance of revelations, endure much affliction and publish some of the most insightful words in history. God filled Paul with His Spirit and sent him out as the apostle to the Gentiles. According to his own words, Paul lived the rest of his life not unto himself but for Him who died for us and rose again.

He was a chosen vessel of God. Has God chosen you? Labor according to the power which God supplies and suffer well as you go.
