“Take heart, men, for I BELIEVE GOD that it will be just as it was told me” (Acts 27:25).
These are the words of Paul to those in the boat with him as they prepared for shipwreck. An angel had told Paul that the ship would be lost but no lives would be lost.
So while the rest were fearful and panicking, Paul was calm and peaceful. Faith has this affect. While danger, and affliction and trials may come, we believe God that He will never leave us nor forsake us. When the tempestuous winds blow and the waves crash around us we believe God that it will turn out for our good just as He has said (Rom 8:29). Believing God enables us to take heart, be of good cheer, fear not and be strong. Men must know what God has said and then they must fight to keep His word and believe to the end. For this is the victory that overcomes the world – our faith.
