He who is slothful in his work is a brother to him who is a great destroyer. (Proverbs 18:9)

Diligence, fortitude, perseverance, patient continuance in well-doing; these are words that are characteristics of the kings and priests of the earth. The work of ministering the word of God and letting your light shine before men is an ongoing, never failing work. Needless to say, slothfulness would be a destroyer of such work.

Oh, the multitude of good works that have been begun but have fallen to the wayside by giving in to the fatigue of the flesh. This is a burden to saints but there is grace to help! We do not have to give in to the lazy tendency of the natural man; he can be overcome.

The new man, being fashioned like unto God Himself, does. It grow weary in well doing. Put him on! Jesus Himself shall not fail nor be discouraged in His work and Christ in us shall be strong too!

Brethren, put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh! Put your hand to the plow and don’t look back! BE strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might! Finish your work just as Christ shall finish His work in you.
