vs 1. It is not good to be by yourself all the time. We need help from others, and others need our help.
vs 6-8. A foolish mouth is extremely destructive. Words are powerful; for good or for bad. Take careful consideration for what you say.
vs 9. Laziness is about the same as destruction. It destroys your energy, time and motivation.
vs 10. “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.
vs 12. “Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty, and before honor is humility.” This is because God is against the proud and He gives grace to the humble. The first shall be last and the last shall be first. The humble shall inherit the earth. God exalts the humble and humbled those who exalt themselves.
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time (1 Peter 5:6)
vs 14. Physical sickness can’t touch your spirit but spiritual sickness can come and lead to physical sickness too.
vs 19. Seek peace with your brothers. Avoid offending others.
vs 22. “He who finds a wife finds a good thing.” A godly wife will help you and keep you company. A wife will help you know God. A good wife helps her husband take care of his work and the family. A good wife loves the Lord above everything else.
vs 24. Jesus is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. And your brothers can become your closest friends.
