vs 3. Foolishness produces a crooked path and causes men to fear. Wisdom is akin to faith in God.
vs 6-7. There really is no glory in poverty.
vs 11. “The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and his glory is to overlook a transgression.” This will require patience, compassion and not being easily offended.
vs 14. “Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.” I cannot think of anything more precious in this life than a godly wife. She is to be sought after and honored. God has truly blessed the man who has found a wife that will help him.
“There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel – that will stand.” (vs 21)
God is driven by His own counsel. That is why things happen. He is working His own purpose. The plans of a man’s heart, are to be committed to the Lord. When our will matches up with God’s will – then we have something special.
vs 26. It is a shameful thing to dishonor your mother and father.
